Alejo Moguillansky

Alejo Moguillansky is a film director. His films have been screened in festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, Berlin, Viennale and London, among others, and they have been highlighted in numerous retrospectives. He has won the Best Argentine Film Award at BAFICI on three occasions with Castro (2009), El escarabajo de oro (2014) and La vendedora de fósforos (2017). He has edited films by Mariano Llinás, Albertina Carri, Matías Piñeiro, Hugo Santiago, Laura Citarella, among others. In theatre, he works with Luciana Acuña. with whom he regularly collaborates, alone or together with with her ensemble Grupo Krapp. He is a tenured Professor at Universidad del Cine (Buenos Aires). He co-founded the production company El Pampero Cine with Laura Citarella, Mariano Llinás, and Agustín Mendilaharzu. He is part of the Sociedad de Exhibidores Trashumantes, a “parakultural” organization for film exhibitions, located in Buenos Aires. He is part of the Redaction Comitee of Revista de Cine (Argentina). His last film Por El Dinero was premiered in 2019 Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, Cannes.
