Lukas Valenta Rinner studied film directing in Barcelona (ECIB) and Buenos Aires (Universidad del Cine). During his studies he worked as an assistant director in theater for Gerardo Naumann and as a location manager in South America for Heinz Emigholz´s film Dieste (Uruguay).
In 2010 his short film A letter to Fukuyama screenes in competition at the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema and at the Austrian Diagonale Film Festival. His first feature film, Parabellum, premieres in competition in International Film Festival Rotterdam, followed by several festivals around the world, receiving many prizes. Iniciated by the Jeonju Cinema Project, his second feature A Decent Woman opens the competition at the Sarajevo IFF and goes on to screen at numerous Intertantional Film Festivals (TIFF Toronto, IFF Rotterdam a.m.m.).
He is founder of the independent production company Nabis Filmgroup, with branches in Buenos Aires and Salzburg, Austria.
As its international producer, he is involved in the production of films like Cocote (Nelson Carlo de los Santos Aries - Best Film Signs of Life at the Locarno IFF), Far from Us (Berlinale Forum 2019), About 12 (Martin Shanly), and One Sister (Verena Kuri, Sofia Brockenshire), all having an international festival run.
Lukas V. Rinner wurde 1985 in Salzburg geboren. Nach Abschluss des Gymnasiums studiert er Filmregie in Barcelona (ECIB – Escuela de Cine de Barcelona) und an der Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires. 2011 gründet er die Produktionsfirma Nabis Filmgroup, mit Sitz in Buenos Aires und Salzburg, in der er als Produzent für die Entwicklung und Produktion mehrerer Spielfilme verantwortlich ist.
Sein erster Kurzfilm A Letter to Fukuyama premiert im Wettbewerb der Diagonale und des BAFICI. 2015 realisiert er seinen ersten Spielfilm, Parabellum, der im Wettbewerb des IFFR ROTTERDAM seine Premiere feiert und nternational mehrere Preise gewinnt.
Als Teil der Initiative "Jeonjou Cinemaproject" beendet er schon 2016 seinen zweiten Spielfilm Die Liebhaberin. Der Film läuft auf zahlreichen internationalen Filmfestivals und gewinnt mehrere.
Als Gründer der Firma Nabis Filmgroup ist er für die Produktion der Filme Cocote (Locarno Filmfestival, Oscar Nominierung Dominikanische Republik), Far From US (Berlinale-Forum), About 12 (Bafici) oder One Sister (Filmfestival Venedig) verantwortlich.
